August 2008
Welcome to another edition of the African ICT Achievers
Awards newsletter.
Special greetings to all our women readers as they celebrate
women’s month in August.
Women’s month is about celebrating the great and inspiring
work women have done in our communities, homes, workplaces
and societies.
So although Women’s Day was on 9 August, it would be nice for
women to dedicate every day for the rest of this month to celebrating their
lives. Never forgetting to take a moment to really look back
and celebrate their achievements, wisdom, grace and peace
and for giving birth to life and hope for the future.
In this issue we have splurged on praise for this
wonderfully and fearlessly created species. We have taken
time to celebrate and commemorate all our women achievers
over the years until today by featuring 10 previous top
women African ICT Achievers as we also celebrate the 10th
year anniversary of the programme. Read all about it in this
issue.
We also bring you progress on the adjudication process and
keep you posted about developments in the programme.
We have attached a calendar of events of the programme in
order for you to be informed about the events to date and
going forward.
This month our “Focus on Judges” features Dr Adesina Iluyemi
from Nigeria, read about him below.
Thank you to all those readers who have taken time to
respond to us with comments. We value your input and want to
make sure that this newsletter always speaks to you. So
please keep on writing to us, we greatly appreciate your
feedback.
Once again “Happy Women’s Month” to all our women readers.
May the light continue to shine above you so that you mount
like the eagles!
Until next time.
