June 2008
Note from the Editor
Dear Readers
Wow! The 10th African ICT Achievers Awards programme is
gaining momentum and we are excited about the developments
so far.
The nomination process closed on 13th June and so far some
500 nominations have been received by ForgeAhead. This of
course bodes well as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of
the programme particularly because the amount exceeds all
the previous year’s entries received.
We are currently working on collecting nominees’ CVs and
conducting fact checking. Thereafter the adjudication
process will follow. We will keep you posted on further
developments as we go along.
In this issue we bring you a new section, where we focus on
the high level judges for this year’s programme. This month
we have focused on NEPAD Special Adviser, Ahmed Kassam.
We would like to thank all those who have taken their
precious time to participate in the programme by nominating
people. We also want to extend our thanks to our valued
judges. We truly express our gratitude to your commitment in
this vision and for being a continuous partner. Your loud
participation is felt in the ICT sector in Africa at large.
Thank you.
So with that said, I invite you to watch this space for
forthcoming attractions in the programme.
Until next month!
