ForgeAhead will be hosting an Executive Business Summit in
2007.The twenty first century is one that African Leaders have identified as the African century; which gives an opportunity to African countries to truly move the continent from a third world to the first world economy. There is a great need for a basic telecommunications infrastructure that allows for the ICT Industry to become the enabler of access to information and education.
“Unless this communications infrastructure is set up, the continent will never be able to deal with the real issues of poverty, education, corruption, HIV and Aids. All of these are real issues affecting the community in the quest to making the “African Century a Reality,” says Jane Mosebi, managing director of ForgeAhead.
Mosebi says; “Through this high profile gathering, we aim to bring together business leaders, influencers, decision makers and delegates representing governments from the African Continent to discuss issues around women and ICTs, small micro and medium enterprises, ICT investment and Development in Africa, youth innovation and entrepreneurial ship.”
At the Summit; African leaders will stimulate plans to take advantage of ICT opportunities in Africa, share how the use of ICTs has managed to uplift communities, promote private/public partnership investment in Africa, broker relationships to make initiatives a reality and create an agreement for action and a commitment from stakeholders.”
