New Audit partners for African ICT Achievers Awards

ForgeAhead has announced that Nkonki Incorporated is the new audit partner for the African Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Achievers Awards. In a bid to select outstanding ICT performance in Africa, the two companies will work together on nominations, adjudication processes and interviews.

ForgeAhead is responsible for the overall management of the programme including all the stages of nominations and adjudication.

Currently ForgeAhead is conducting fact checking on all the nominations received and thereafter online adjudication will start. Top level judges have been secured this year to ensure that top achievers are selected as the programme commemorates its 10 years in existence.

Says Jane Mosebi, ForgeAhead’s managing director: “Nkonki Incorporated’s main responsibilities in this programme are to ensure that the processes of nomination and adjudication are properly followed and are authentic.”

“These include reviewing evidence that processes were followed, checking for accuracy of information received as well as capturing nomination information and an auditor sitting in during the interview processes.

“The auditors will also review the ForgeAhead scoring mechanism and ultimately select the final winner based on scores given by judges. They will also observe that awards are presented to correct winners.”

Ten years ago ForgeAhead started this ICT awards programme, to initially encourage the entrance of black ICT professionals to enter into the market and to recognize the achievers that emerged each year.

It has since then evolved into a strong brand in the African ICT fraternity and has culminated to a significant focus on the whole African continent.

The finalists will be announced at a gala dinner in November at a venue in Johannesburg where a representative from Nkonki Incorporated will present feedback on the audits done.

“We are excited and proud that Nkonki has partnered with us in ensuring that ICT talent in Africa is recognized and given the tribute that is so deserves,” concludes Mosebi.
