African ICT Achievers Awards winners announced
|
The 8th Annual African ICT Achievers Awards were held at a Gala Event on the 25 November 2006, at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa, where the winners of the awards were announced in true African style.
Over the past 2 months, the awards were preceded by a grueling judging process as a result of the high calibre of the entries received. Says Jane Mosebi, MD of ForgeAhead: “The competition was really tough this year because of the myriad of innovative and substantial entries we received from across the entire continent. These individuals and organisations are doing such great work to embrace ICTs and make this a truly ‘African Century’. Feedback from the judges was that they were inspired by the innovation, even at a formative level of most of the entries. In some cases, where the entrants have achieved so much with so little, really humbled them.”
ForgeAhead, in partnership with the Department of Communications, its partners and stakeholders are proud to announce the winners of the 2006 African ICT Achievers Awards. We congratulate them for their efforts and thank them for their commitment to digital inclusion and African unity and prosperity through the use of technology.
