Top Black woman in the ICT sector
Miriam Zwane, co-owner and director of Praxis Computing.
Miriam has been in the IT sector since 1997 and has actively
sought to utilise her gift for IT training to stimulate
ICT development in disadvantaged communities.



Finalists: Blanche Mogorosi, Programme Manager at SITA and Dr Sebiletso Mokone-Matabane, Chief Executive Officer at Sentech.

Top Individual in the ICT sector
Sizwe Nxasana, CEO of Telkom SA Limited is responsible for leading the company towards its vision of becoming a world-class integrated communications group.




Finalists: Kevin Paul, Managing Director of Nambiti Technologies and Mthunzi Mdwaba, Executive Chairman of Torque-IT.

E-Government award
City of Cape Town
: IT Services. The City of Cape Town as one of the largest local government initiatives in the world with an implemented Smart City Strategy.




Finalists: Gauteng Department of Health.

Top ICT Educator of the Year
Tuduetso Setshedi, head of the Computer Literacy Department at Modiselle primary School in the North West Province.




Finalists: Omphile Gratitude Dipale of Ramotshere High School and Philemon Mathebula of Makgetse High School.

Youth Innovation award
Mandla Njokwane
grew from being a street child to a mentor at the Youth Development Trust where he assists other young people to develop IT skills.

Finalists: Lyle Laxton of Lateral Thinking Technologies, Gavin Gowar, Deputy Head boy at the Krugersdorp High school and ‘Gbenga Sesan from Paradigm Initiative Nigeria.


Award for Creative Use in Education
Torque-IT which was formed to address technology skills gaps and to contribute to workforce development through the delivery of career training, guidance, support and information to the international technology community.

Finalists: World Links South Africa and Computer Training Institute


Civil Society Award for Bridging the Digital Divide
Youth Development Trust is a non-governmental organisation aimed at developing and building strategic alliances in the youth sector.

Finalists: Gbenga Sesan: Nigeria’s IT Youth Ambassador and Nkhetheleng Vokwana: Telkom Foundation


African Born Company Growing Across its Borders
e.com Institute (Pty) Ltd is an e-business solutions provider focused on delivery of common sense business solutions.

Most Progressive Company in the ICT Sector
Telkom SA Limited is a leading provider of integrated communications solutions and has made considerable progress in black empowerment, employment equity, social development and upliftment.

2003 African ICT Achievers Awards Lifetime
Dr Andile Ngcaba
, the 2003 African ICT Achievers Awards Lifetime Achievement Award winner, has over twenty years experience in the ICT sector and as Director General of the Department of Communications made a vast contribution to the development of the sector in South Africa.

His role has had an immense impact on the South African ICT Sector and he has been an inspiration to many in the sector.
