A truly Africa wide ICT
Awards programme, endorsed by Nepad, the African ICT
Achievers Programme, has at its core a central
theme, one that touches the lives of all Africans,
namely to “Make the African Century a Reality”.
Since its inception in 1998, the African ICT
Achievers Programme has built a strong foundation of
recognition and reward for those
ICT individuals and organisations who have made a
difference to the ICT industry in Africa. They must
have proven achievement in business excellence ,
innovation, entrepreneurship or through having
touched the lives of others less fortunate. They
must also have proven that their interaction
continues to leverage ICTs to make a difference
across
our continent.

The Programme Elements:
The African ICT Achievers Programme comprises three
complementary focus areas:
• The African ICT Achievers Awards comprising
nomination, adjudication
and the annual banquet;
• The African ICT Achievers Executive Business
Leaders Summit and
Networking Forums - a year long programme of topical
networking forums
designed to be a catalyst for change through ICTs and of
course the
annual African ICT Achievers Executive Business Leaders
Summit;
• Corporate Social Investment. Considered a critical
element to driving
digital inclusion, African ICT Achievers Corporate Social
Investment
deploys computer laboratories into needy schools and communities in
Africa. Training and mentorship programmes also form part of the
focus. |
