Key African ICT decision-makers jointly debate Government service delivery

ForgeAhead’s latest ICT in National and Provincial Government research formed a strong foundation for debate when key ICT decision-makers and stakeholders from the public and private sectors in South Africa and the rest of the continent converged at the International ICT in Government Summit held at Sun City at the end of May to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Governments across Africa in integrating ICTs for enhanced service delivery.

The content for this three-day event was informed by ForgeAhead’s newly completed Government Research outcomes and the calibre of speakers presented opportunity for robust well informed discussion around various ICT issues and solutions pertaining to Government service delivery across the continent, citing tangible examples of success.  ICT ministries from Africa, included Minister T. Thabane: Minister of Communications from Lesotho, Ms Nihad El Ghamry: Senior Program Officer, International Relations Division in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt, and Dr J Okech: ICT Secretary (PS) Office of President in Kenya.

Says Nicky Pope, Research Manager – National Government “ForgeAhead prides itself in the relationships and trust it has built up over the past 6 years at all levels of Government in South Africa as well as in into the rest of Africa and, as well as this can be directly attributed to the excellent quality of our research outcomes.  We gain insight into the strategies, issues and challenges as well as the status of ICTs in government, enabling us to provide all stakeholders with consulting on how to apply these outcomes optimally to their unique needs”
